My oldest turned 6 last month. My my where has the time gone!  It seems like they just laid her my arms yesterday. I would love to keep my kids small forever but that’s just not how it works unfortunately.

It was her birthday, of course we had to have a party.  The party was a success, some of her classmates from school came and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves.

The next day as I was cleaning up from the festivities I found a crumb of a cupcake in the floor, with a few ants nearby.  I hate having ants! So I immediately made my go to ant killer recipe.  This is truly the best any killer I have ever tried and it works FAST.

Ant bait

I’m not sure about anyone else but I have never had any luck with the ant killer they sell in stores, it has never worked for me.

**I would like to add that this recipe is not kid or pet friendly.  Please keep out of reach of children and pets.**

So to get rid of ants and keep them gone I only use 3 ingredients:

  • Borax
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly or Jam
  • Index card

Mix your peanut butter and jelly together or if you have a jar of Goober you can just use that.

Use one teaspoon of your PB&J mixture and one teaspoon borax. Mix well.

Cut an index card into eighths.  Use as many as you need, I used 2 since my ants weren’t out of control.

Place your mixture on your card and place near your counter edge or the edge of the wall.

Then, wait for the ants to come.

DIY Ant Killer

I found a few ants that morning, used this ant killer and by that evening all the ants were gone.  And, they haven’t returned!

**NOTE** This ant bait is not kid friendly OR pet friendly!!  If you have children or pets keep it far from their reach OR do not use!!
