Shabby Chic Baby Shower

Last spring my sister Kim and I helped our friend with her baby shower for her first baby. We were assigned the best job of all, decorations!  We did all of the decorations for her shabby chic shower. She did not know the gender of her baby and she loves neutral colors anyway, so she wanted tan, brown and ivory. My first thought was  “We need some color!!” but that’s not what she wanted, and I am glad she didn’t change her mind.  I was in LOVE with this shower. So take a peek at what her shower looked like.

This adorable baby rattle door hanger is the first thing the guests seen when they arrived.  This was my favorite decoration, it cost about $10 to make.  If you want to know how we made this then click here.

Once they came inside there were Thank You gifts and a guest book to sign.  The “Thank You” gift were jordan almonds in a cute little burlap bags that we placed in a basket that we had laying around.  The guest book was a of course burlap and we purchased it at Hobby Lobby as well as the chalkboard sign.

Kim made a chalkboard sign and had it printed at Staples on poster paper and attached it to …  I love how she had what each parent thought the baby was and it had Mommy’s cravings listed.

We made a sign out of Kraft paper and hung it above this adorable clothes line (the clothes line was my favorite).  We hung outfits, a diaper, bibs, socks, wash cloths and a lovie on the line in coordinating colors.

Mommy to be had these cute tan napkins made with a bear on them.  We placed the utensils in mason jars wrapped with burlap and string.  Mason jars like this were also used as centerpieces on each table with baby’s breath.

It’s not a baby shower without a diaper cake, right?  We used 3 packs of diapers in this cake and that’s all we used, no filler items.  Wrapped it with 4 inch wide burlap and overlapped it with 2 inch wide ribbon, then added some kraft paper crinkles we purchased at the dollar tree.  I added a ribbon on the top layer and a sign hanging down that I made with my cricut machine.

We also displayed her ultrasound picture on this cute frame that we already had and placed some extra tissue pom poms on the back of the table.  The table runner was so cute it had ruffles on each end, but we didn’t get a picture 🙁

We made a “SWEET BABY” banner for the cake table.  We used baby’s breath for the centerpieces on the tables and added some to these vases on the cake table too.  Above the cake table there were several small, medium and large tissue pom pom’s in tan and ivory.  You can make tissue pom pom’s for hardly nothing or if you don’t have time, as we did not, you can purchase them from amazon.  They had the best prices and shipping that we could find.

Here are the tissue balls from amazon.

The cake went so well with the theme of the shower.

Across each door way we placed these cute pennant banners.

And I have to share this although its not a decoration, but it kind of is.  The Grandma to be made this cute baby fruit basket, I love that it has “hair”.  Adorable! Almost to cute to eat, almost!
